Timothy Leahy, CLU^®

Managing Partner/ Financial Planner

As a financial advisor with Eagle Strategies LLC and the co-founder of Third 3rd Financial Partners, Tim Leahy focuses in helping clients define and achieve their retirement goals. His knowledge and experience is evident in the wide variety of client demographics that he serves, with differences in age, gender, background, and financial experience and objectives.

Tim is a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA) and he is also a lifetime qualifying member of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT)¹. Prior to entering the financial services industry, Tim graduated from the United States Coast Guard Academy in 1979 with a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering. He then earned a Master’s in Statistics and Operations Research from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, in Troy, New York. To further his education, he has also earned the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU^®) designation.

Mr. Leahy was in the Coast Guard for 20 years. Among other assignments, he served as a commanding officer of two ships and the Coast Guard Vessel Traffic Service in New York Harbor in the late 1990s. He also taught college-level math at the Coast Guard Academy for four years. As an active member of his community, Tim supports the Carroll Center for the Blind in Newton, Massachusetts and is an active member of his church in Newburyport, Massachusetts.

Tim has been married to Kathleen for 30 years, and they have three children. In his off time, Tim likes to read, follow Boston area sports teams, stay active by hiking with Kathleen, and training each year for the Cayuga Lake Triathlon in Ithaca, NY.

Patrick McKallagat, CFP^®, CLU^®

Financial advisor Patrick McKallagat prides himself in his ability to boil down the intimidating parts of financial planning into easy-to-understand concepts. The result is a planning process that is more comfortable for his clients. As a co-founder of Third 3rd Financial Partners, Patrick understands that it’s hard for his clients to picture themselves in retirement and what it takes to get there. That’s why Patrick and Tim endeavored to build the foundation of the company on helping clients have a successful third-third of their lives.

McKallagat is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER^TM and has earned the Charter Life Underwriter^® designation through The American College of Financial Services. He’s a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA), qualifying member (2011/2012 & 2014-2019) of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT)¹, and the Financial Managers Society (FMS). He married his high school sweetheart, Katie, in 2012, and they have a son, Jameson, and a daughter, Isla. They reside in Bradford, Massachusetts.

Peter Morin, CLTC^®, RICP^®

Partner/Financial Planner

Peter joined New York Life in 2015 and joined Third-3rd Financial Partners in 2023. He is excited to add the expertise and over 35 years of experience the team provides for the benefit of his clients.

Prior to entering the financial services field, Peter had a 20+ year successful career solving problems in the high-tech industry.

During his time with New York Life, Peter has worked to develop his craft and learned to solve more important problems. He strives every day to help his clients protect what matters most to them: their family, their businesses, and other financial assets. With a focus on protection first planning, Peter works to ensure that his clients can sleep well at night knowing their families and businesses will continue to thrive financially even in the aftermath of worst-case scenarios such as premature death, disability, or extended long term care scenarios.

Peter believes in lifelong learning. In addition to his current licenses and continuing education requirements, he has also earned the most recognized designation for Long Term Care planning (CLTC^®) as well as the Retirement Income Certified Professional (RICP^®) designation from the American College of Financial Services

Peter has been married to Sarah for 22 years and they reside in Chelmsford with their three daughters. The older two are pursuing degrees at Stonehill College and the University of Vermont while their youngest attends Chelmsford high school and plays on the varsity ice hockey and lacrosse teams. In his off time, Peter is an avid golfer, loves his Boston sports teams and supports his wife Sarah’s business ventures.

Connor Townsend, CLTC^®

Partner/Financial Planner

A client’s goals and the connection with their current financial situation frequently lead to tough decisions where emotions can play a significant role. I treat my clients the same way I would want to be treated when it comes to making challenging life choices in relation to their goals.”

Financial Advisor Connor Townsend works with clients to develop a financial picture of where they currently are, where they want to be, and the path to best get there. The way he accomplishes this is through deep conversations, not just on the numbers and facts, but on the emotions and desires of the client. He breaks these down into attainable goals in a manner that is easy to understand and strive for.

Connor comes from a third generation small family business and prides himself on understanding the aches and pains of a business owner. He works to help them by protecting the business they have worked so hard to build, to reward those that help build it, and to plan for the business and business owner’s future.

Connor is a CLTC (certified in long term care). He is a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA), qualifying member (2021,2022) of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT)¹. Connor is Engaged to Leah, and they have a hyper boxer dog. They currently reside in Salem, New Hampshire.

Darlene King

Executive Assistant

Darlene began with Third 3rd Financial Partners in early 2017. However, she has acted in a supporting role for financial advisers since 2009. Her ability to navigate the mechanics of completing administrative tasks is instrumental in providing a smooth experience for our clients. Darlene’s responsibilities include processing applications, assisting with policy and account service, and maintaining accurate client records. On her days away from the office Darlene enjoys spending time with her family, reading and traveling.

Wendy Wood

Administrative Assistant

Wendy joined the team in early 2017 and is primarily responsible for marketing and practice management. Wendy earned a business management degree from Northern Essex Community College and previously held positions in the banking and retail field with a focus on customer service. Wendy is a New England native and (mostly) loves the changing seasons. Wendy enjoys spending time at “the lake” in Maine with her family, scrapbooking, jigsaw puzzles and Sudoku.
